Sensar Marine Boat Monitor
The Boat Monitor system from Sensar Marine automatically monitors your boat’s battery voltage, location, and bilge pump activity and allows you to check their status on your mobile phone.
- 5 Year Warranty
- A subscription is required for this product. This is priced from US$ 10/month (for the bi-annual plan). This subscription includes global internet connection via the cellular network. No additional internet connection is required to make this product operate.
The system runs on an internal battery with up to four months of power and charges itself every time your boat batteries are being charged. In other words, it is completely maintenance-free and will monitor your boat for years without having to remove it to charge. Runs 24/7 without drawing power from your boat.
The Boat Monitor is the system's brain - where data from your boat is continually collected, and sent to the Sensar Marine app (available from the Google Play Store and App Store).
Automatic GPS features give you peace-of-mind using a Multi-GNSS receiver to pinpoint the boat's location. The position and movement features are tracked by sensors inside the Boat Monitor device itself. The app shows you the current position of your boat at all times. Impacts up to 8Gs are also detected and recorded.
GeoFence and Triplog features will automatically be updated, so that you always know when your boat is underway, where your boat is, and where it has been.
Additionally, we have chosen plastic components across our system in order to avoid eventual sources of rust in the boat.
Companion App - Senser Marine comes with a companion app that shows all collected data over the last 30 days, conveniently graphed where appropriate. The app also allows you to share your boat's location and manage your Geofence alarm. You can also view a trip log of the last three months that shows speed, course, time, location and impacts. Viewable on a map and calendar.

Will a Boat Monitor Lower My Insurance Premiums?
Yes, installing a boat monitor can reduce your insurance premiums. Many insurance companies offer discounts for boats equipped with monitoring and tracking technology because these systems lower the risk of total loss from theft or severe damage.
How Monitoring Systems Reduce Premiums
Insurers generally categorize these devices as "risk-mitigation" tools. They offer lower rates for the following features:
- GPS Tracking & Anti-Theft: Devices that provide 24/7 location tracking and geofencing (alerts if the boat leaves a designated area) make recovery much more likely if stolen.
- Security Alarms: Systems with motion sensors, door/hatch contacts, and audible alarms deter intruders.
- Environmental Monitoring: Sensors for high water/bilge levels, fire/smoke, and battery voltage allow you to intervene before a small leak or electrical fault becomes a catastrophic claim.
- Operational Data (Telematics): For high-performance vessels or fleets, monitoring driver behavior (speed, harsh maneuvering) can lead to significant usage-based discounts.
Estimated Savings
Discount Range: While specific amounts vary by carrier, standard discounts for security and monitoring systems typically range from 5% to 20% of your premium.
Negotiation: Even if a discount isn't explicitly listed, demonstrating a proactive approach to risk management with a monitoring system can be used as leverage during policy negotiations or renewals.
Important Considerations:
Approved Devices: Not all monitors qualify for discounts. Some insurers require professionally installed or specific UL-listed systems to apply a rate reduction.
Subscription Status: To maintain the discount, you typically must maintain an active monitoring subscription so the device remains functional 24/7.
Carrier Specifics: Major providers often reward safety and security upgrades; it is recommended to contact your insurance company or broker directly to verify which specific monitoring units they recognise.
